Welcome to the Families 4 Fragile X website!
The purpose of this website is to promote education and encouragement to families that are affected by Fragile X. I noticed while I was searching that there were not many people “blogging” or sharing their daily dealings with Fragile X and I want to offer that. I want to offer support and encouragement to other family members going through what my family is going through. That way we can all learn together and help one another through our journey. Our children are amazing little miracles that bring so much joy to our lives, but it is also have struggles and challenges at times.
What can you expect from this website? You can expect to find in this website links to creditable Fragile X resources, latest studies, and articles. Along with an updated blog about my son’s progression and what we are currently facing as a result of Fragile X (doctor visits, medicine, therapies, new methods or techniques that are currently working for us on a daily basis). I will be open and candid about my son’s treatments because that is the only way we can all learn from one another and teach each other about this genetic disorder. I will also be posting helpful tips from my personal therapist who helps me and gives me reading materials from “Babies Can’t Wait”. Above all else expect encouragement! Expect positive readings with a positive message. The most important thing is our children and learning how to better help them in life.
What not to expect. I am not a professional doctor in any way. This blog is only about my personal life experiences as I see them and not based on anyone else’s. I understand that not all children diagnosed with Fragile X are the same. I am hoping to simply offer insight to my life and how we are coping with this as a family.
Thank you for visiting the Families 4 Fragile X website and enjoy reading!
